• synopsis: envelope inputfiles [-maxima= filename] [-minima= filename] [-averages= filename] [-mads= filename] [-sds= filename] [-rmss= filename] [-sums= filename[, power]]
• description:
  envelope processes any number of input files, assumed to have identical numbers of points and identical abscissa values, producing optional output files containing the minima, maxima, averages, mean-absolute-deviations, standard-deviations, RMS values, and/or sums of ordinate values at each abscissa.
• files:
  inputfiles represents a list of one or more input data files.
• options:

  maxima

  
  Specifies the name of a file into which the maximum ordinate value at each abscissa will be placed.

  minima

  
  Specifies the name of a file into which the minimum ordinate value at each abscissa will be placed.

  averages

  
  Specifies the name of a file into which the average ordinate value at each abscissa will be placed.

  mads

  
  Specifies the name of a file into which the mean-absolute-deviations of the ordinate values at each abscissa will be placed.

  sds

  
  Specifies the name of a file into which the standard-deviations of the ordinate values at each abscissa will be placed.

  rmss

  
  Specifies the name of a file into which the root-mean-squares of the ordinate values at each abscissa will be placed.

  sums

  
  Specifies the name of a file into which the sums of ordinate values to a specified power at each abscissa will be placed. Any number of these may be given.
