  stream2mpl inputfile outputfile [-xstart= value] [-dx= value] [-format=" format-string"] [-xlabel=" string"] [-ylabel=" string"] [-title=" string"] [-topline=" string"]

• description:
  stream2mpl converts a stream of numbers into a mpl-format file. The numbers become the ordinates at equispaced abscissae.
• files:
  inputfile is an ASCII file containing a stream of numbers in any format, provided no line exceeds 1024 characters. outputfile contains the mpl-format data set.
• options:

  xstart, dx

  
  Specify, respectively, the starting abscissa value and the spacing of consecutive abscissae. Defaults are 0 and 1, respectively.

  format

  
  Specifies a C-style format string for printing the data to the output file.

  xlabel, ylabel, title, topline

  
  Specify strings for the mpl-format labels. The defaults are ``x'' and ``y'' for the x and y scale labels. The default title is composed from the x and y labels. The default topline is blank.
