Environment variables

QtEDM uses the following environment variables:

VariableDescription
EPICS_DISPLAY_PATHPlatform-separated list of directories to search for ADL files and referenced images (: on Unix, ; on Windows)
EPICS_CA_ADDR_LISTEPICS Channel Access address list
EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LISTEnable/disable automatic CA address discovery
QTEDM_AUDIT_DIROptional audit-log directory override. The default remains ~/.medm.
QTEDM_ARCHIVER_URLEPICS Archiver Appliance retrieval root used by archive-backed plots.
QTEDM_ARCHIVER_PROVIDERArchive-provider plugin ID. Empty or archiver-appliance selects the built-in provider.
QTEDM_PLUGIN_PATHPlatform-separated list of absolute local plugin directories. QtEDM also scans the plugins directory next to its executable.
QTEDM_NOLOGSet to a non-empty value other than 0 to disable control-write audit logging. Equivalent to -nolog.
MEDM_EXEC_LISTMEDM-compatible semicolon-delimited entries added to the EXECUTE-mode context menu. Each item supplies a label and command.
QTEDM_TIMING_DIAGNOSTICSSet to a non-empty value other than 0 to print timestamped startup-phase timing to standard error.
TRACK_MEMDiagnostic memory sampling in the form [interval][:logfile]; the interval defaults to 60 seconds and output defaults to standard error.

Standard EPICS CA and PVA environment variables are consumed by EPICS Base. Diagnostic variables are intended for troubleshooting, not routine operator configuration. Automated tests also use private QTEDM_TEST_* variables; those are test interfaces and are intentionally not part of the supported operator configuration surface.
